The Pottuvil Lagoon Eco Tour is a new sustainable initiative in the management of mangroves and wildlife in Sri Lanka. It brings together local fishermen, government officials and tourists in an attempt to conserve and protect Pottuvil Lagoon’s precious flora and fauna.
During this two-hour canoe tour, you will experience the sheer serenity of a mangrove ecosystem; a forest in the water. A huge variety of birds inhabit this mangrove forest, such as sea eagles, kingfishers, pelicans, herons, darters, grebes and stilts. In the trees, you can witness both varieties of Sri Lanka’s macaque monkeys, while crocodiles, water monitor lizards, freshwater snakes and a multitude of fish and prawns lurk below the water surface.
Experience this rich ecosystem up close with the Pottuvil Lagoon Eco Tour!
